And so those are the things that as a human being, it's hard not to be like, fuck, man, I have kids, you know?
And so, but like this, this is the the sacrifice in my mind that that soldiers, military folks make that go in harm's way.
Of course, there's the physical sacrifice.
Of course, you might die.
Of course, you might get maimed.
And that is an enormous sacrifice, undeniably.
But there's also this other part that's described as moral injury, where you do things that you were trained to do, that you were encouraged to do, that is part of like the geopolitics.
This is what we're doing as a country.
And you did those things.
But now you gotta live with the fact that you did them.
And no one's gonna tell you they were wrong.
You just gotta literally live with them.
And that's difficult, especially when you watch that.
sort of half assed exit from Afghanistan, you're like, great.
Yeah.
yeah.
No, does that feeling pop up?
You know what's interesting about that is I'm describing uh effectively like the the the second order effects of having gone to war.
And and again, this is not even me trying to be humble.
I just think it's important for perspective that we have been at war, you know, decades.
