Now for Watford, because of course you want to come in and get the ball off the centre back, for example, you know, in the pockets, in the hole, in between the midfield players, in between the lines.
At Watford, I would never do that.
But at Liverpool, Alan Hansen's bringing the ball out.
Alan Hansen can't get the ball further than 20 yards.
So I would always have to do that with a fullback overlapping.
Now that would never happen at Watford.
So therefore, I had the experience.
And that's the thing.
We're not played up front where you can actually come short and do different things.
You kind of like get that.
But at Liverpool, it was so interesting because they never coached us once.
And they said from the first couple of weeks in training, we were playing practice matches.
I was doing it.
Peter Baird said, we're doing it.
And he's thinking, they never told you.
I mean, running around would say, half-time he'd come in, he'd go, right, what's gone wrong?
He goes, I know, but I'm not telling you.
And you'd walk out of the room.
Work it out yourself.
