I would look at Alan Hansen.
He's the most influential player.
You talk about someone bringing the ball out from the back, playing then when you're playing against Fashion and Whitehurst and McArthur, never liked that.
But in terms of playing modern football, football now, Alan Hansen was incredible.
You could not get the ball off.
He'd be bringing it out from the back.
Him and Virgil van Dijk for me in the last 40 years, whatever.
So Alan Hansen probably.
But for Liverpool, it was always, you know what I played for England?
The most technically gifted player I've ever seen in my life into this day is Glenn Hoddle.
Glenn Hoddle, I mean, you would have had him with England as a manager, but as a player, he was incredible.
But he played at a time when English football was about that.
It wasn't about technique, but Glenn was incredible.
Is that right?
So what was easy for Alan Hansen was that you had six foot five set of foes who were particularly mobile.
So he didn't like it in the air and all that thing.
But normally a center forward, Alan could dribble around them.
