It almost feels like a form of infidelity or something.
You're cheating on yourself.
Ugh.
You're cheating on yourself.
And dude, I spent 20 years in a career track.
I knew every student affairs law.
I kept up with all the legal proceedings.
I kept up with all of the fights.
I kept up with all the funding issues of education and the Department of Ed, all of it.
And somebody asked me the other day a question about some higher education law, and I didn't know the answer.
And I actually smiled because I had to make a clean break.
That's not my world anymore.
Yeah.
And any energy I spend trying to prop that world up is me trying to prop up an old ego.
Yeah.
But here's the hard part about this.
You have to ask yourself, what was it about that job?
Because by the way, I reject the phrase dream job.
Okay.
Because it's like saying I met the one.
