And it if if if we thought we were onto something before Seinfeld, the moment we put Seinfeld on top of the free holiday, it broke records.
Oh.
Yeah, there's no question that, you know, if you have the right message to market match, now it has to be the right p celebrity or sports star.
And celebrities and sports stars you've got to be careful because obviously there's some of them can be naughty and so therefore, you know, particularly sports stars, you've got to be careful which ones you select because they can do all sorts of silly things.
And you don't want that associated with your brand.
But as it turned out, Seinfeld was a safe bet.
Uh we still took out insurance, by the way.
So if that politic celebrity did something silly, then you know, you're insured for it.
But you know, Seinfeld is pretty clean skinned.
And uh yeah, what happened is that uh I just contacted his management, which is a uh a a guy called George Shapiro.
I got on quite well with him and uh I said to him, Well, you know, what do you need from us for pitching it to Jerry?
He
told me what we needed to do and it was basically just saying to Jerry, look, this is how we think the advertising campaign might go.
But if you're interested in this, then we're more than happy for you to have a major influence in writing the scripts.
And so that's what happened.
Jerry threw out all of my scripts and we used his.
So he said to me, Did I mind?
I said, as if I'm going to say no to the funniest guy in the world doing all of our scripts for our TV ads.
Of course we're going to say yes.
