We call it the freemium model.
So think about premium, but this is freemium, the freemium model.
And I always say to people, it doesn't matter what business you're in, you know, in my instance, you know, we hand out all of this stuff for free when I'm on stage at a seminar or I'm doing webinars uh or podcasts like this.
And the whole
The whole reason is is that you know, I I realize that, you know, if I hand out all of this valuable information for free, there's a pretty good chance that that will spark some people, not everyone, but some people to go, look, you know, I wanna talk to that guy.
And so I always say to people, if you're in the advisory game, and I know your background was PWC and, you know, an accountancy practice and so forth, um, I always say no matter what you're in, even in that league, hand out whatever you possibly can for free, because that will demonstrate to people what you've got inside your head.
And there's a good chance that there'll be a percentage, whether it's five or ten or twenty percent of those people who put their hand up and say, Can you help me?
The beauty of dealing with some of the big brands, the seven elevens and the uh BP gas stations, Disney, I've done a lot of work with Disney over the years, is that because they are big, they're able to take my crazy ideas and actually implement them and make them happen.
The frustration was that when about a dozen years ago I said to my wife, look, we're not getting any younger.
The big companies uh are great and they will pay you ten or twenty or thirty thousand dollars a month.
the month for consultancy and and that's fantastic.
And when we had six kids at going through private school, I needed that sort of income.
But I said to my wife, look, we're not getting any younger.
Why don't we take the intellectual property that I've given these big businesses and cut it into bite-sized pieces and give it to smaller businesses?
And uh she said that uh I think her words were you're an idiot.
Just keep doing what you're doing because we've still got kids at school at school
And uh anyway, I decided that I would not listen to my wife and I went into the small business sector and I found yeah, it very frustrating because small businesses don't have a marketing team to implement my ideas.
And even if it is a mum and pop business with maybe one or two or three or five staff, they still don't have people who are going to implement the stuff on Facebook or LinkedIn or whatever it might be that I'm telling them to do.
And so what we've done over the last five or six years is that we recognize that small business
Businesses don't want advice.
