And they are company directors.

So they're bound by their own legal and statutory obligations.

And, you know, there's some high profile people on that 12 person board.

So they'll want to establish all the facts before they take any action, which will jeopardise the FAI's position, both from a football perspective and also financial.

Yeah, so if you just look at the football perspective, yeah, so there's 18 points to play for in this group and you would be sacrificing six straight away.

And this is the point that the Ireland men's manager has made, Hymer Halgrimson, is that he would see it resulted in Ireland having certain relegation from the Nations League, from what's known as League B into League C.

Now, I think that's an arguable point because if you look at the last UEFA Nations League campaign with England and Greece, they lost four games.

They only won two games and they still finished third and managed to avoid relegation through a playoff.

So even if they were to forfeit the games, there's still 12 points to play for.

The likelihood is if you're to win two of those games against either Kosovo or Austria...

that you'll probably finish third and again have a playoff to survive.

So that scenario isn't necessarily guaranteed.

Then you mentioned the financial aspects.

And we have to remember that the FE High, you know, are 36, 37 million euro in debt.

They're looking at their senior men's team as being the cash cow for the organisation.

And if they were to basically forfeit the fixture, the home fixture, that sort of removes 20% of their annual revenue from a ticket perspective.

So if you look at it in monetary terms, a 50,000-seater stadium at an average of €40 per ticket, that's €2 million ballpark of potential revenue, which they will be losing.

But the counterpoint to that is that

Of those 50,000, 30,000 of them, 60% are season tickets.

So there are ways and means of which you can, you know, you can refund or sort of counterbalance that by putting on an extra fixture maybe next year.
