Every one of these close party line votes in the past six weeks has been happening without McConnell.
There's a bit of an irony, isn't it?
The senator who changed the Supreme Court from nine to eight for a whole year has now changed the Senate from 100 to 99 for six weeks.
I think you'd find a lot of conservative brothers and sisters who would agree with you on that, Governor.
I have many more questions about procedure.
I have learned more about how these things work in your beautiful state than I ever thought my brain could contain.
But we have so many folks who want to say hi and have their own questions for you.
Rachel is calling from Los Angeles.
Rachel, hello and welcome.
You're live on SiriusXM with Governor Andy Beshear.
Thank you for the question, Rachel.
I mean, yeah, what happens if it were to sit unfilled?
If the senator wasn't able to return to the office, might it sit unfilled until January?
It's also good to know that governors don't have the power to declare people dead.
Let me go to Ted in Delaware on line five.
Ted, hello and welcome.
You're on with Governor Beshear.
Yeah.
If Senator McConnell is able to vote and negotiate legislation and direct his staff, then proving it should be pretty straightforward for these friends.
And there really is no reason for the Republicans to want to be down a seat in the Senate as their governor.
