What about the emissions?

Yeah, I mean the the these type of studies are done as part of the environmental assessment and generally speaking, uh they work out pretty well.

You you it's a bit like the emissions associated with building a wind turbine, right?

Y you tend to pay them off in the first, you know, few years.

So I would expect, for example, in the case of a metro, especially these are all of course electrified systems, you get your money back in terms of emissions very quickly.

And I will say this, Matt, as well, for all the the financial probity that we keep hearing about and from your your

I don't recall him explaining how he is going to square with the electorate when the EU comes looking for their fines for failure to to achieve the the the emissions cuts that we are legally obliged to comply with.

Yeah, good evening, Matt.

Um it's not as radical an idea as uh you might think.

For example, uh uh since nineteen eighty five, so that's thirty-one years ago, we set up uh the National Oil Reserve Agency or NORA.

And that NORA holds uh about one point seven million tons of liquid fuels on the island.

Now a little bit is is held offshore, but most of it is held in a series of big depots spread around the country.

Now, there's a pretty obvious reason for.

That matter, of course, is that this country runs on whether we like it or not, this country runs on oil.

And if we were to have a significant disruption to oil supplies, uh for an extended period of time, there would be chaos.

Hospitals would go black, bad things would happen, right?

So it represents an existential risk to society, uh, a breakdown in our access to fuel.

So as a result of that, we spend, I think there's a two euro or sorry, a two cent uh

per per litre levy, uh, which is the Nora levy.
