I remember this whole thing.

Pyromaniacs.

Yeah, somebody gets off on that.

I remember in 2019, there was a great effort made by the press in Australia to pretend that the catastrophic wildfires of 2019 were the work of half a dozen arsonists.

It was complete nonsense.

The fact is, when you create tinderbox conditions, even something as simple as a discarded piece of glass...

That can be enough with the sun shining through that for several hours to actually start a local fire.

We've also talked about lightning strikes and other things, Matt, that are likely to set off fires at 40 degrees.

If you have electrical cables running through a particular area, you get junction boxes that overheat and begin to spark.

So we see breakdowns in the grid and they can trigger fires locally.

So there's a whole bunch of things that can set off fires.

It's starting a fire is really easy when the underlying conditions, when everything is bone dry, the slightest spark and you've got yourself a fire.

It is comforting to think that there are some intrepid conditions.

arsonists travelling the length and breadth of Europe to travel to set off fires.

But let's be honest about this.

That is completely ridiculous.

Apart from anything else, Matt, they'd be putting their own lives at risk because these fires, once you start it, you lose control of it within a very short period.

And we've seen this.

We've had the tragic loss of firefighters again today.

You know, you're messing with very powerful forces here.
