We didn't have the communication that they do today.

You couldn't sort of say, give it to who or whatever.

You had no involvement, really.

I saw Jeff Wilson looking as though he was going to kick it.

And then Preston grabbed the ball and said, no, I'll take it.

And that was his first act in the game.

First act.

and 56 yards, 56 meters, straight between the post.

Then another one later, shorter, but just as powerful.

But more importantly, he played in probably the most pressurized 20 minutes I've ever seen an all-black team come under.

The pressure that we were under, particularly the last seven or eight minutes, where we were virtually, we were seven points ahead,

For him to play like a champion in that situation showed some great credibility about the whole depth of the squad.

And that was, I call him the cleaner now.

His name's the cleaner, because he came on and cleaned up.

That was a massive moment in All Black history.

And John Preston is not a great name in All Black history, but let me tell you, he is with us.

Unbelievable.

As I said earlier, one of the most ferocious attacks I've ever seen, you know, withheld actually, because

they had big men and they just wanted to, they wanted it so badly.
