I had been living in Hollywood in 1976.

when I first saw Taxi Driver.

But in 1980, 81, I was gonna make one last attempt to have a career in music.

So I flew out to LA, but when I got to the LAX airport, I couldn't function properly.

And I thought to myself, what am I doing out here?

I got on a Greyhound bus, I went to the Greyhound bus station, got on a Greyhound bus,

and went cross-country on this bus the week prior to the shooting.

I arrived in Washington, D.C.

March 29th, checked into a hotel.

The next morning, I saw Reagan's schedule in the newspaper, his schedule for the day, and I saw that he was gonna be at the Washington Hilton.

And so that's how I knew where to go on March 30th.

Yeah, it is.

I guess you have to do it because everybody, all the press and everybody wants to know exactly where the president is and what he's doing minute by minute.

So I guess that's why they do it.

No, no, not at all.

So accessible.

They shouldn't.

I think they did stop putting his, putting president's daily schedules in the newspaper.

Um, but, um, yeah, they shouldn't be giving, they shouldn't be giving out such minute details about the president's schedule.
