Hollywood or in the studio business, well that that film was such a hit that it it intro introduced us to a great company uh right here in Santa Monica, Lionsgate and uh and some other studios.

And then it was just, you know, the pressure of can you do this again?

This anomaly thing.

This isn't Lionsgate.

Um this is not.

No, but but we uh for five years, uh one of the great mentors of my life was Michael Burns, Vice Chair Lionsgate.

Sure.

And uh and uh those guys.

Oh, did they really?

Yeah.

I love uh Felt and Mike and and they're my whole career is based off mentors and when I did that deal, um, I said I just wanna I wanna learn how your studio works and I'm a very curious entrepreneur and I'd like to be seen as an entrepreneur first and a filmmaker second and Michael just took me under his wing, asked at Felt.

So I'm so curious.

Oh yeah.

We owned it and everybody did well and you know, we all got a chance to buy a house and you know it was a wonderful moment in life.

And but

what I realized on the other side of that is

You know, when you have the pressures to repeat success and when you don't even really know how it happened and and uh you know, our next film was number one uh number one movie in America Friday night.

Uh when it opened, it was called I Still Believe in my brother and I were in pre production on a film called American Underdog and producing a film called Jesus Revolution and

And then five days later COVID had taken out all theaters worldwide.

So I was like, Oh, welcome back, disappointment.
