And so I read four things in a row.
And they didn't have that.
And they were quite funny.
Daniel Kaelman's Measuring the World, he's a German writer.
Christopher Kracht's book Eurotrash, he's a Swiss-German writer.
And that's really, really funny, also really dark, and it's about going on a road trip with his mother who's demented.
But it's laugh-aloud funny.
Olga Tokarczuk's Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, which is the funniest book with a title like that you can possibly imagine.
And Perfection by Vincente, I think, I've forgotten his surname, Lantrosio, something like that.
Yeah, and that's a very, very funny novel about digital nomads.
So any one of those four would be my card.
Didn't get a chance to workshop that in advance.
They don't have any of them.
A free copy of the book to the first question.
Three great questions.
Well, those are all very good questions.
To take the third one first, I think I noticed, naming no names, but I noticed that novelists sometimes go off, and particular novelists with an eye for the comic.
And I remember thinking that...
what was happening, perhaps unfairly, but what was happening is if writers careers go quite well, they can get to a point where they never have to go out and they don't have to interact with the world and they can just go to their desk every day and write and kind of the walls can close in a bit.
I remember thinking I didn't want that to happen.
