What a political person, a political, an active politician brings to the table in modern politics is they've been stress tested for any rumours or any allegations that there have been about them.
If you were, say, Billy Kelleher, and if Billy Kelleher had had a problem, that would have emerged in the local press in Cork.
At the time, clearly it didn't.
Clearly there was no problem with Billy Keller.
He's a respected, very accomplished public servant who would bring to the table, go, look me in the eye.
I have no issues here.
