Well, yeah, I think because when we've been reading these, like going through this course of ancient Christianity, and we talked about like Tertian origin,
And they were like foundational church fathers, but they were like really out there.

Like, was that transition from, like, everyone kind of is doing their own thing to at the same time that he's kind of forming his beliefs, Constantine's going to be pretty close behind him, like, formalizing the canon.
All these creeds are starting to go.
And so, like, his, he, I think, led a lot of the thought to, like, centralize and normalize a lot of beliefs that carried on all the way to our day.

And so I really kind of read into the beliefs of Augustine and the formation of beliefs that he had that carried on through.
I was thinking, like, why do we not study this?
Like, why am I not hearing pastors preach on this?
Why am I not, like, studying this in school?
And the more I thought about it, the more I kind of realized, like, oh—
If he was alive today and did kind of the thing, lived the life he confessed in confessions, southern evangelicals would not even touch him.
Wouldn't even be like, you're not in at all.

One, his early life of just all kinds of sexual sin, immorality, and is the one thing that he goes through that which he repents of.
And I think that is our modern moral framework can forgive that.
But he gets married, and when he kind of converts back to Christianity and goes into the church, he leaves his wife.
