Don't put a but at the end of it.
Just stop with a period and just stop there.
And if you're anything like me, it takes a heck of a lot of self-control.
I'm sorry for, because usually there's two sides, right?
I'm sorry for whatever it is, period.
Finally, don't make it about the other person's feelings.
This is the classic like, oh, I'm sorry your feelings were hurt.
I forgive you?
Really?
Or are you asking me to, I'm sorry that you were offended.
I'm sorry that you feel that way.
That's just passive aggression.
That's just manipulation.
That's not a healthy, good apology.
So the point here with confession, which starts with, I did this wrong, I did that wrong, and then
the next kind of step is a really good apology.
The key here is just to verbalize your behavior that was out of line, just to get it out on the table, and then to express your heart desire to reconcile.
Yeah, step three is restitution.
And this is another one that a lot of us just want to brush past.
But restitution is where you right your wrong.
