And so at this point, I had already been to Africa twice and I had already taken my buffalo and I shot an elephant on that hunt and everything too.

So I had all kinds of stuff that I had done.

And so I just started writing about this.

And initially it was just me telling stories and amazingly, and I'm not even sure exactly how it happened.

People started reading it and I started connecting with people and I made friends with different outfitters and different places to include some of my partners today in South Africa and

And started kind of going somewhere.

And I ended up making a connection and ended up working for a place called Wide Open Spaces for a little while.

They were an outdoor media company.

You write articles about hunting and shooting and stuff like that for them.

I did that, and then I continued to write for myself.

And I found that of all the stuff that I wrote about, I tried everything.

dozens of different topics over the years.

The thing that people really resonated with and really got lots of eyeballs was cartridge comparisons.

The .30-06 versus the .270.

And so I kind of stumbled into one of those almost by happenstance and wrote it, and it was just a giant success.

It was actually the .308, .30-06, .300 Win Mag, all compared.

And so I started writing more and more and more of them.

And the responses I would get from people were very interesting because there were some people, say for like, I wrote an article on the 6.5 Creedmoor versus the .300 Win Mag.

Some of the people would just almost get mad at me for writing it.

They're like, anybody that doesn't know the difference between these two cartridges is an idiot and they got no business hunting.
