As you and I have just been talking about is not a lot of evidence that the United States and Iran are on the verge of
even seriously attempting to work out a deal, much less accomplishing that end.
And you know, when we talk about a deal today, what I find remarkable is that most of the emphasis is on stopping the shooting, number one, number two.
Opening the Strait of Hormuz, which is another way of saying putting it putting an end to the two blockades.
And then dealing with excuse me, the various economic issues like uh sanctions, reparations, uh, and freeing up the frozen assets.
Those are the big economic issues.
So those economic issues, opening the straight, uh stopping the shooting,
Those are the issues we talk about.
But nobody talks about the nuclear issue anymore.
It's really quite amazing.
That's been
put on the back burner.
Uh and meanwhile the Iranians again have powerful incentives to acquire nuclear weapons.
Uh there's all sorts of interest in the Iranian parliament in doing exactly that.
Uh and we're having a devil of a time working out
A deal with the Iranians that doesn't even deal with the nuclear issue.
So what does this tell you about?
prospects of getting a deal on the nuclear issue tells me it's gonna be really tough to do.
It's exactly right.
And all the reports are that his successor and the people around his successor
