You know, when it comes to predicting the economic future, we live in a world that two famous British economists called a world of radical uncertainty.
These are just very difficult things to predict.
And the point is, if you're President Trump or any other world leader, you don't want to take a chance that we will go off the cliff.
You want to do everything to minimize the chances that we will go off a cliff.
Because you don't want an economic crisis.
And I think this is why President Trump was incentivized to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
Again, if you just go back to the Memorandum of Understanding, you look at the terms of that memorandum.
It was a surrender document.
Trump understood that.
And he did it because he understood that we were in a precarious situation.
And I believe that he and Besant, I tried to make this point before, I believe that they do fully understand that we are in desperate straits and that something has to be done to fix the problem.
And I don't think, although they probably have better data and better analysis to look at than I do,
Almost for sure.
I think they nevertheless are being told that something has to be done to shut this one down ASAP.
And that's why they're throwing this Hail Mary pass.
And then the question, by the way, Chris, becomes what do they do when it fails?
