I do not think it'll pass.
You've got your, a GM in 26 can trade theoretically 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, first, second round picks.
in what for the GM is a desperate move to keep his job.
And then you have the new regime coming in with nothing to build on.
Now, the argument the owners, other owners could say is, well, it's up to the owner of that team to take responsibility for that GM.
But I think sometimes, Brian, we've seen the owners, the salary cap's a good example of this.
Owners have to make rules to guard against themselves, to protect them against themselves.
And I think this would lead to a lot of really bad situations.
I think the move would be bad for the league.
Again, the other argument is...
Owners own the team.
So it is ultimately the owner's responsibility if he sees a GM about to do this to say, hey, I don't care what regime you're in.
This is my team.
You're not doing it.
Realistically, it's not often how the league works.
So I think this is a dangerous thing and could really hamstring franchises.
I mean, clearly the league likes the effect of making compensatory picks tradable.
the league clearly likes.
Because it used to be you got those comp picks, you had to take them.
And they were sort of boring.
