It was there as an asset that was independent of governments, that was limited in supply, um, and would stop all this monetary debasement, et cetera.
Um but
Crypto's been adopted uh by lots of people now, m more so now than when we spoke twelve months ago.
Um, and of course the the price is somewhat higher now than it was twelve months ago as well.
Um and and there's probably good reasons for that when you look at the stance of the US administration towards crypto assets, which has changed a lot in twelve months and probably means crypto does a as a space
does probably well during the Trump presidency.
Um but if you look at the performance of crypto, it still behaves like a risk asset.
It still behaves like, you know, um one of the the Mag 7 stocks.
So high volatility tends to do well when, you know, in bull markets for equities tends to do badly when when when equity's correct.
So it should be inverse to gold in that exactly.
That's that's so they're complementary assets rather than
Competitive assets.
Now, we don't tell people anything about crypto because that's not that's not what we do and that's not our area of expertise.
But what I do say to people is if you've added crypto to your portfolio or you're thinking of doing so, just understand that you've added a lot of risk to that portfolio and it's it's equity-like risk in terms of its performance.
So if you've added more risk to your portfolio, great, maybe it pays off.
But one of the things you should be doing is you should be increasing your hedges, your demands.
diversifiers.
And particularly with the concerns that you have, or certainly we have and and lots of people have about about US government debt and in fact government debt in general, maybe bonds aren't your best diversifiers after all.
Gold is a really good diversifier uh of risk.
So if you've added crypto, think about adding more gold.
