This is a market which has a balance of uh of demand characteristics.
And some really don't care about the price at all.
If you think about the seven percent of industrial demand, which mostly goes into technology, you know, computer chips, iPhones, etcetera, they don't like paying two thousand six hundred dollars an ounce for gold, but they don't really have a choice.
So they're going
gonna buy the seven percent of annual demand, come what may.
Well, I I th I I think you're right.
Gold has a reputation as an inflation hedge.
We've written more about gold and all the different types of inflation over the last five years.
So we've looked at gold and deflation.
We've looked at gold at and inflation.
We've looked at reflation.
We've looked at stagflation.
So as one of our analysts says, if he has to write another paper on flations, he's gonna go mad.
But the work that we've done shows that there is a very good relationship between gold and
Monetary inflation.
And what I mean by that is money supply growth in the United States.
So if you think about goals' performance over the last four or five years, it did really well in twenty twenty.
We were in the midst of COVID, we had a global recession, central banks printing money hand over fist to reflate economies or to stop them from collapsing.
That's when gold did well.
When inflation actually came along, you'd have been better off in industrial commodities like oil or copper.
