One of the things that was characterized by
the poor performance of gold.
was when we were a real sweet spot for the global economy.
So we'd we'd had the Cold War dividend.
In other words, um, you know, the end of the Soviet Union, peace broke out, people countries were able to reduce defence spending, inflation was on its way down, economic growth was strong, positivity was high.
Now, if we're about to go back to all of those things again, you know, rapid economic growth, low unemployment, budget surpluses, low defense spending, um, peace.
No, no hurry.
Um exactly.
And that and that's perhaps my point.
Um I've got grandchildren now, so I wish we were about to head into a thirty year period of uh of all of those things.
And if so, I'd probably be thinking that I'd perhaps have a bit less gold in my portfolio.
But uh living in interesting times as we do, I think that that gold will continue to play the role that it has played over the last twenty years.
