They magnify the risk of your portfolio and they make it more equity-like.

So look that you know, we're the World Gold Council, we don't advocate for or against crypto assets.

But what I do say to people is if you have bought crypto, understand what you've done.

You haven't diversified your portfolio, you've just dialed up your equity like risk and you've increased the volatility of your portfolio.

But what if you've had a goal to if you've had a goal to your portfolio on the other hand, you've reduced the risk of that portfolio uh and you've reduced the drawdowns that will happen when the

equity market has a really bad wee for market.

I wish I could say that uh the answer to that is yes.

I think I'd answer it by saying it is beginning to become more accepted.

Uh institutional investors

are a bit like super tankers.

Yeah.

They they're very large.

They're very slow to change their um their path.

But when they do, they all tend to uh to to change it um at alm more or less the same time.

So maybe it's a fleet of super tankers.

And what we're seeing is we're beginning to see some early adoption coming through over the last few years as gold as a strategic asset.

Um I wouldn't say that it is an easy conversation and I certainly wouldn't promise that it's a quick conversation, but we've made decent strides in many markets, including Australia.

Well th one of the things I'd say is if I think about my I mean, my career in gold dates back to about nineteen eighty six.

So I I do remember the bad times as well as the good times.
