There's so many things in play when it comes to like how controversial ideas get put out there because it's just impossible to shut them down.
these days.
And so I generally think that, I mean, I'm coming from this Gen X, 90s kid point of view, is that, like, I'm happy with this sort of, you know, more, if people kind of want to say offensive stuff or they want to criticise the government and stuff like that,
But in practice, I feel like there needs to be a bit more equality of bears that are poked.
So, for instance, if you're going to be running some arts festival and you're going to go, oh, let's do these things that, like, some people in the Australian Jewish community are going to be kind of annoyed by or whatever, like, cool, but...
Spread the edgelording.
You know, like it just becomes a bit like, well, you know, you can't just be poking one bear.
You've got to spread the bear poking.
Yeah, I'd definitely be just trying to tell a good story.
So I wouldn't โ I never have the starting point of, like, I'm going to be a โ I know this sounds like I'm lying, but it's so true.
Like, for instance, and I swear, I think I can defend myself, is that, like, I did this episode of Versus God where I basically โ there's no โ
surface level kind of humour in it.
It's like, it's, I'm seriously getting exorcised by, and I'm kind of quiet or whatever like that.
And this was just me going, the story is better like this.
The story is not better if I kind of like try to make jokes or whatever like that.
And also I'd even say my relationship with Father Bob Maguire, where it's like, as soon as I met him, he's like, God, this guy is so funny.
