So in many ways, what Rodgers did by perpetuating Saturday night hockey on CBC is they softened the blow yesterday and today, and they'll be fine.

You know, if you're an Oiler fan and you live in Edmonton and you watch Sportsnet,

on the shows that you're on, you know, you're going to watch everything normal.

You're not going to notice, you're not going to notice one difference because you're going to get Saturday Night Hockey on Sportsnet and life will go on.

Almost 50% of the network's profit was from Hockey Night in Canada.

TV shows, The Nature of Things, Fifth Estate, those types of shows that the CBC did and have done for so many years were financed by Hockey Night in Canada.
