So then...
The referendum was on the 23rd of June.
And on the 24th of June, Mark McGuinness called for a border poll on Irish unity.
And it was the first time in my lifetime that I went, right, this is it.
We're actually on the countdown now.
Absolutely.
I mean, it is a very complex situation, but this didn't start with the Brexit referendum in 2016.
I mean, you know, the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.
And one of the interviewees in the film is Jan Carson.
Very much the, you know, she's very representative of a younger generation in the North, an extremely talented writer.
And she just made the point that, you know, the thing about the Good Friday Agreement, it created a shared space in Northern Ireland.
You could be Irish, you could be British, you could be European, you could be all of those things.
That's why one of the more interesting contributions, well I hope they all are, but one of the more interesting ones was by Markus Meckel, who was the former, he was the last foreign minister of East Germany.
And he made a point that if you look at German unification, basically East Germany was just bolted onto West Germany.
36 years later, there's still a large swathe of East Germany that's completely disenfranchised.
They never bought in to the new dispensation.
He said there should have been a new constitution.
There should have been discussions about identity.
How do you embrace what is effectively a new population into your country?
So people, I think here, a lot of the question gets absorbed around issues of the timing of a border poll or something like that.
