Like the the one weird trick I found to getting in that headspace.
I don't write it, but I do read it and I love reading it.
And some of the things that I think are really cool about the internet are that like I can have a poetry newsletter send me a new poem every day in my inbox, and then I get to like look at my inbox every morning and be like, ooh, a poem.
Like, let me read this poem.
And then I read the poem at halftime like I do not understand that poem.
And then half of those times I'm like, let me try to understand this poem.
And you know, and I actually take the time to sit with something that's hard and challenging and beautiful and interesting.
And sometimes it does something for me and sometimes I just get annoyed.
But like it is an opportunity, an invitation for us to use our brains in a different way.
And that is what is so exciting to me about poetry.
Yes, in a couple of senses that I think are not the sense in which a lot of people would say yes to.
Yes, in the sense that I think it will cause a rupture in the order of what we do.
No, though,
That's a hard question.
But no, in the sense that I think that if AI caused the apocalypse, first will we cause the apocalypse?
Like that is like like yes, AI might be the proximate cause, but like if we usher in this thing, this tool that takes over and does something and makes us all paperclips or whatever, that's on us.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
Right?
So like if AI caused the apocalypse, we will have caused the apocalypse.
That's one thing to say.
