It's still subject to
to the harm of the physical world and yet it it can't interact with it.
And I find that such an interesting wrinkle to this question of like what is consciousness?
I think consciousness might require a body.
I'm not totally convinced, but I'm also a little agnostic about it.
Poetry is the most non instrumental way we have of writing and reading.
When we take something and treat it as only to accomplish a goal.
Whether that goal is like to have hedonistic pleasure or whether that goal is to learn something, I think we're doing it disservice to that act activity.
I think it's important that we do things for their own sakes.
And poetry is one of these things that like forces my brain to slow down, to be present.
It's not even necessarily fun.
Sometimes it's not fun.
Sometimes it's like hard and frustrating.
But like I do it because it is important that.
I do it, not because I'm trying to get to some end.
And that like non-instrumental way of thinking, which maybe it's an illusion, maybe we all just do things, you know, for some end, and maybe the end is complicated or whatever.
Like, sure, maybe.
But like, it's so important to me to have the experience of using my brain in this non-instrumental way, in this way that's like, I'm just trying to do this thing to do this thing.
