As Vinnie says, a lot of teams are so coached and maybe even overcoached at times.
Dundalk really expressed themselves and played with the freedom.
Darren Horgan could pop up anywhere.
Owen Kenny could pop up anywhere.
Benny and Ruby up front, again, using that word again, he really, really is a handful.
So they've got an awful lot of attacking talent.
They're very, very good to watch.
They've been a surprise package, as you rightly say, but it hasn't really been a massive surprise from my end.
I suppose he's not too long gone from the league, which is a major plus in terms of his man management skills and recognising
how people feel and what the problems that they incur as a player and how to deal with it best.
I'd also say he probably works very hard at it.
He would be a student of the game and he'd think about it and he'd really, really delve into what he can do to make his team better.
And even in terms of the recruitment this year, if you look at that squad that Dundalk have and some of the players that he managed to convince to come with him to Dundalk, it's absolutely brilliant.

I actually just sort of anecdotally I ran into Ella Malloy of course plays for Shamrock Rovers ladies just ran into her in Thomastown the other day and we were talking about the women's league and I just asked her about I said look I'm going to the game on Monday and Dundalk are playing Waterford I said what would they have thought of Killer and Athlone and she said anyone that has ever played under him or had anything to do with him absolutely loved him and really really loved playing for him and you know I'm not even slightly surprised
First of all, his physical ability.
He is a big, big boy, but he moves very well, passes the ball well.
He's aggressive in the tackle, which is probably slightly unusual, even for centre-halves these days.
It tends to be that they're not as aggressive as they used to be, maybe.
I remember talking to Potter Gamland on a podcast at the end of last season, and he actually said that.
