So of course I'm happy, right?
But this was, it's temporarily enjoying it.
And I do not believe the courts, the Supremes, are going to rule on this case, which is Lulac and Al Green versus Abbott in Texas before they rule on a Louisiana versus Calais case, which has the same issues.
And
I'm cautiously optimistic.
I think for anyone to believe that Trump's Supreme Court will defend voting rights is wishful thinking.
And then you wonder the only way the Supreme Court will accept the cases if they believe it's on a federal question, which clearly voting rights is.
I think that they are waiting on this case.
The Calais case is going to determine where they go in this case.
So I believe just based on the timeline that.
they're going to go forward in 2026 on the current maps here in Texas and wait to see if that determines, it's going to determine how they look at the Texas case.
That's just what's going to happen.
So I'm cautiously optimistic, but they could go really fast.
But the Louisiana versus Calais case has actually been in the Supremes.
They argued it in March of this year.
The Supremes came back and said, you have to re-argue it in October, specifically October 15th of this year, which is extremely unusual.
And so they're waiting to rule on that.
And so if the Supreme Court changes Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, then that's absolutely going to affect this case that they just ruled on that temporarily enjoined it.
So I'm going to be cautiously optimistic, but I will not be surprised if the Supreme Court uses Louisiana v. Calais to change Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
