People, we aren't going to be able to stay there that long.

They're only two Democrats away from getting a quorum.

We can't ask these people to hold out

I believe

that we would have had to hold out to about December 8th because that's the last time to file for Congress for 2026.

Some people were saying, well, the Republicans changed the rules.

They break the rules.

They'll keep putting it off so that we'll end up having to stay out as late as May.

I don't believe that that's possible, but some people did.

And they were like, well, we're just not going to stay out from now until May.

And so the next best scenario, because there is a lawsuit going on right now in El Paso,

challenging the racist maps that were drawn in 2021.

Here we are four years later.

The briefs for that lawsuit are due in September.

And so what they're saying is if we allow these racist maps to pass because we know they're going to pass, then we can add that to the lawsuit

that's going on now for the 2021 maps and showed that it's racism upon racism to cut black people and brown people off.

And we think that that will help us win in the Supreme Court.

And we have to let the maps pass soon enough so that the lawsuit that's going on now can be heard because it goes straight up to the Supreme Court.

So that's what they thought.

I didn't agree with that strategy, but some people thought that that's why they went back.
