you're not led by fear.

You're not led by shame.

You're really, you become curious.

And I do genuinely believe that's where I am now.

I'm really hungry and open and curious.

And I don't, I really try not to judge folks.

And I really do see that, you know, I've found wisdom and grace and beauty in folks that a lot of people would label as some of the scariest people out there.

I was blown away.

It was an out-of-body experience.

I had told this story, and I knew that it took that leap to sort of jump into something.

It never dawned on me that it even mattered whether it was true or not.

In that room, I knew my back was against the wall.

I know I hadn't brought anything.

I knew it was an enormously emotive room and a level of sort of openness with these young artists, these serious young theater artists that I was completely unfamiliar with.

And I knew that I had to jump.

And it was no different, honestly, than jumping into a street fight or jumping into a football game or jumping into a situation that, okay, there's only one thing to do here.

If you're sparring and boxing, okay, let's go.

You just take that step and you go.

I have from a young age been quite addicted to that step.

And I knew that that step was necessary there, even though I had no idea what I was doing.
