So I do think you need these candidates that are well known within their states, who either because they have off they've held office there statewide or they've run before. matched

I mean, I think most of it is the result of a political realignment along lines of education. matched

I think two-thirds of the electorate uh does not have four-year college degree, and a third does. matched

And so um, when you have states like an Ohio, like an Iowa, where there are more non-college educated voters, then you're getting a realignment that was probably been matched

lagging for a while that you because you had w to the extent you did have Democrats in those states when Obama was president, they were very conservative Democrats. matched

And so at some point voters think, do I want a conservative Democrat or I just, do I just want a Republican? matched

I think because the economic policies that Democrats have passed over the last couple of decades, while they have improved the lives of millions of people, have not improved them enough to sort of neutralize the effects of an economy where wealth equ inequality continues to grow. matched

Their view of the national party. matched

has become, and part of this is, you know, the fault of the Republicans or the success of the Republicans. matched

They view the National Party as a party of elites obsessed with cultural and social issues and not focused enough on economic issues. matched

And this has basically been the Republican message and the Trump message for many, many years now. matched
