So I began doing a thank you walk.

I coined the term thank you walk.

I would walk.

and then practice gratitude on the walk.

And I started to feel better.

I felt a shift.

Catherine noticed it.

At the same time, Heather, I was praying, what am I born to do?

Why am I here?

I know I'm here for a reason because, I mean, I'm about to go bankrupt.

I know how I'm going to pay the bills and I'm questioning my existence and my future.

And writing and speaking came to me during that time.

So I began writing and sharing what I was doing to become more positive.

And this was during the emerging field of positive psychology.

I had one of the first e-newsletters ever back in 2002.

I started my e-newsletter.

And I'm emailing some of the ideas I was doing.

I had five subscribers to my newsletter.

My mother, my brother, my best friend from college.

And I'm sending it to them.
