I think, but to get a bit meta about it, I think this book, it's a really interesting study on how the literary imagination can pick at some central cultural ideas without being really didactic and look, look, look, look.
Because it deals with memory.
It deals with the world you create.
And that's sort of the moment we're living in.
People are creating a world and they hold to that world.
The fact that she goes very big picture with did my grandfather kill Hitler is I think that's kind of a piece with that study of how we're making this world now out of a whole lot of individual senses of reality.

But I loved the book.
But that's the thing, because I think the thing that actually sustained me through the book was the childhood friendships, that sort of through line of association.
Well, there's one particular character in it.
There's a little handful, this little bunch of musketeers.
But there's this one kid who's troubled and who never actually falls on the right side of, you know, of having a good time.
He's an outcast.
