I think that squad at the World Cup was incredibly strong.
But France do have incredible strength in depth.

Yeah, I see his relationship with Mbappé.
I think Mbappé and Didier Deschamps did have a very strong relationship.
And Mbappé, we've seen at his clubs that he can be, at times, maybe slightly difficult to deal with.
If he can manage the Real Madrid dressing room, you can manage anywhere.
He'll never have to deal with egos as big as those of Real Madrid.
Clearly, he can do that side of the job.
He is somebody who players respect and he can get a tune out of them.
I guess it is different at national level.
You're not with the players all the time, which in some ways is an advantage.
That's sort of
uh yeah there's a creeping attrition which can can can grow at a club where you're working with people every day you're not going to have that but equally you might get a player on the straight now then he goes off for a month does whatever he does with his club and comes back and he's he's forgotten all the lessons you've taught him so yeah again we it's so hard to know what he actually did at Real Madrid that uh I'm fascinated to see how it's how it pans out
I mean, in one way, absolutely it is, yes.
It's clearly a massively gifted group with a massively gifted... A French second string would be a challenger at the World Cup.
So there's no country in the world with the strength and depth of talent that they have.
And it's an odd sense.
I mean, it is an odd sense.
