Congratulations on Cambridge's promotion this weekend.

I'm just emailing to say that I was one of 1,600 fans watching a playoff final on Saturday at Tier 9 of the Pyramid, making a five-hour trip to see Grantham Town beat Newark Town 2-0 to seal promotion.

I just thought Grantham and Newark could be closer than that.

Anyway, that's not the interesting part of this.

The only other time we've got a mention on the pod is when Crows devoured our pitch a couple of seasons ago, added to the fact that this year was our first winning season since 2018, and the last few years have been utter dross.

Saturday was epic.

We were great.

We finally broke our playoff curse.

I've been walking on air ever since, despite it being the most excruciating 90 minutes imaginable, never believing it could happen until about 30 seconds from the end.

Alas, this tale doesn't include vasectomies, upcoming nuptials, or meeting former England manager in the wild.

But for one day this weekend, a team...

made a town absolutely delirious, and ultimately that's what it's all about.
