And from what I understand, CNN executives were talking about this afterwards and they were furious.
And a lot of them are suggesting that might be it for CNN's presence at this dinner.
Maybe they think, All right, this is it.
We we're not going to attend again.

It's just it doesn't work in this era.
Yeah, it's it's uncomfortable, isn't it?
It's it just feels really anachronistic because you've got a president who has spent a lot of this second term threatening journalists, launching legal action against parts of the media, you know, trying to silence publications in a really profound way.
And then you're having this dinner, it's all very cozy and we're all joking and there's a lot of backslapping, and it just feels uncomfortable.
And I think what
What's interesting is after the ceremony, Peter Baker, New York Times chief White House correspondent, said, you know, maybe this is it for the dinner.
Maybe we don't do this anymore.
Yeah, and look, I think there's obviously very good reasons why journalists go to these things.
It's an award ceremony, so it's important for their for the media more generally.
But also, it's not bad to be speaking to people at members of his cabinet, to be speaking to the president.
