And it was important because Donald Trump has not attended one of these dinners as president.
And it was seen as kind of just interesting that he was gonna be there giving a speech, he was gonna be doing the whole thing.
Because it's kind of an awkward setup these dinners, because this is the person you're reporting on, his administration, all his officials, and then you're there having dinner with them all.
And traditionally
under Barack Obama, George Bush, um, the president would give this kind of roast style speech.
They would be poking fun at the media, poking fun at themselves and of uh often, but it was all done, you know, with good humor and in good jest.
And I think there was a lot of interest to see how Donald Trump would pull that off.

A lot of the jokes that had been set up didn't really land.
