Listening to this address last week from Donald Trump, a lot of people were left sort of scratching their heads, a bit confused, wondering what this was all about.
Yeah, so I think you're referring to a couple of the broadcasters the American networks chose not to run this speech live.
So NBC and CNN didn't take it live, CBS and Fox News did.
Others were streaming it.
It's likely millions of people still watched it in some form or another online.
But yes, Trump was really critical of this because he said, you know, when I speak, you should be listening.
The White House had gone to the broadcasters beforehand and said, this is a major speech from the president.
You need to be carrying it.
And it's a big, big issue in journalism more generally, because.
You know, when the president speaks, we should all be listening.
Whether or not you believe what he's saying is true or not, it's going to be important because it's going to have an effect on all of us all over the world.
But from the broadcaster's perspective, they're concerned about, you know, are we just going to let this go out there unfiltered?
Are we going to let him just say things without any fact-checking, without any break on it?
And we're all going to be left scrambling afterwards trying to work out what he's saying.
And I think look
Looking at the content of the speech, they may have made the right call.
