Whether that be a passport or a birth certificate.

Yeah, I mean I think I think it's it's still a bit up in the air about who this is going to affect more.

We know that it's it's gonna really h hurt a lot of women as well, because women who have changed their name after they got married, that they're gonna have to be able to produce all sorts of um proof of citizenship based on those names that they might not just have.

And, you know, it's interesting because parts of the US has c have carried out similar laws to this in the past.

In 2011, Kansas passed.

Passed a statewide law that said you need to present proof of citizenship when you register to vote.

And that led to about 12% of all eligible voters having their applications rejected.

So these were eligible voters who didn't quite meet the standards.

And they they were basically disenfranchised.

And that law was overturned a couple of years later because it was a disaster.

You know, you can see why that people are so worried about this particular piece of legislation, but Trump is pushing it really, really hard.

Yeah, I think it's a really good point.

And I think one of the most interesting things about this entire speech is how less than a week on, it has almost been entirely forgotten.

So hours after he gave the speech at 9 p.m.

Washington time, Fox and Friends, the breakfast show on Fox News, very pro-Trump show.

aired its morning programme and they didn't mention the speech once.

Well, maybe it's that.

I I mean it it's it's fascinating because even after it happened, you know, the MAGA faithful people who are really, really into Trump, they were briefly talking about it.

A couple of Republican senators jumped on it, but most were really, really quiet.
