The all-ordinary gold sub-index, though, was actually down 5% across the week.

Additionally, the financials had the best close in nine weeks and Telstra drove the index down as their mid-week outage really weighed on investors and the market responded to that.

Over in New Zealand, the big news was the OCR.

So the RBNZ has increased to 2.5%, that's a 25-bit increase.

That's the first increase that we've seen in three years.

It was largely expected, you know, almost about 70% of analysts were predicting that going into it.

But what we have seen is that the commentary around that announcement and some of the interviews following have really indicated quite a strong hawkish sentiment with, you know, coming out and saying further reduction in stimulus is likely.

So, you know, while we expected the rate increase, perhaps there's been a little bit of an increase of like, oh, this is more to come and that's the start of things rather than the end that we'll sit with for a while.

And that combined with some strong New Zealand manufacturing PMI results that came out with the PMI up 9.8 points for June, that really is sort of helping to illustrate that actually there is a broader recovery.

We've seen some challenges with the US Iran hostilities.

but generally a good news sentiment for the New Zealand economy.

And that then drove the New Zealand dollar up.

So the New Zealand dollar was up 0.9%, just above 57.6 US cents for the week, which is a strong finish.

Yeah, it's a big week for data and earnings announcements this coming week.

We have the US CPI out on Tuesday, and that's tipped to ease to 3.9% year on year.

There'll be a lot of eyes on that when that's announced.

We also have the new Fed Chair, Kevin Warsh, doing his semi-annual testimony in front of the Senate and House of Representatives this week.

So it'll be his first time doing that in this role, and there'll be a lot of eyes on how that kind of plays out.

We also have the earnings season really diving in in earnest with the US banks releasing on Tuesday.

So that's JP Morgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo and Citibank all announcing their earnings.
