Much of that easing has really been the improvements in gasoline prices that consumers are seeing over in the States.
But it is still, you know, there is still some negative sentiment, and the year ahead inflation expectations remain elevated at 4.6%.
which is well above the 3.4% seen before the conflict earlier in the year.
Yeah, so the US dollar index rose 0.5% last week.
Treasury yields were firmer, the curve was flattening, and that's really all in line with the market pricing in near-term hikes to come.
Sure, yeah.
Oil had another week drifting lower, so oil prices are definitely down.
So WTI crude has fell more than 10% over the week and is actually back towards pre-conflict levels.
And that's actually fallen roughly 25% over the last month.
Bloomberg has reported that the Persian Gulf crude exports are actually recovering to at least 75% of pre-war levels, which is a pretty significant milestone.
And we've seen traffic through the Strait of Hormuz at the highest level since the conflict began.
So that's all to say, though, over the weekend, we've seen a change in the situation with an escalation in hostilities, attacks from both the U.S.
and Iran.
So markets this week will likely be keeping a close eye on that to see how that plays out and see if it's another blip on this path towards peace or if things may be changing in the ceasefire situation.
Yeah, yeah.
And what about closer to home?
The ASX200 fell 0.7% for the week, recovering to close positive at the weekend on Friday.
The NZX50 was essentially flat, falling down just 0.39 points through the week.
And in terms of the ASX, we saw 7 out of 11 sectors in the ASX actually in the green on the final session of the week.
The week's key domestic event was really around the midweek CPI release.
