And that's kind of an important point with any habit, weight loss or otherwise, the reason that you're not able to rely on willpower is because when you decide, I'm gonna eat healthy this week.
Look at the emotional state and the physical state that you're in.
You probably just ate something that wasn't good for you.
You're on a dopamine, you're at Cheesecake Factory sitting there going, Oh man, we got to get the check.
Uh, you know, I'm gonna eat healthy for the rest of the week.
You're not saying that when you're, oh man, I skipped breakfast, I'm starving.
Well, I'm gonna eat healthy this week.
I already said I was gonna do that.
Very unlikely.
You're going to make those willpower promises when you are in a different
Emotional state.
You have to be very aware of the way that you react in different emotional states.
Whether we're talking about hunger, whether we're talking about going to the gym, whether we're talking about uh some sort of nervous tick that you do when you know maybe you pick your eyebrows or your nails or whatever little nervous ticks people have.
They do they do this a lot when they're nervous?
You have to be aware of what emotional state you're going to be in because you can't just say
I'm not going to bite my nails anymore.
You can't do that.
You can only do that when you've used your own psychology against you, which is creating th those pain points and realizing that your willpower, whether or not it's finite, it doesn't really matter.
There's sort of debate back and forth on whether or not willpower is finite, whether it it's not.
Yeah.
