Thanks to the all of the volunteers, the meeting leaders, the members, and everyone who continues to make the Galano Club a place where people can show up exactly as they are and find a community who believes in them. podcast-host

Uh and most importantly I want to recognize uh the people walking the path of recovery podcast-host

Uh I have uh many uh friends and family that have been there. podcast-host

Uh my uh law partner for for many years and her husband uh uh were both uh recovering uh alc alcoholics uh and I learned so much about recovery honestly through them, through talking with them, through just them telling me about their experience. podcast-host

Uh and then during National Recovery Month again we just want to celebrate the courage and remind our community that recovery podcast-host

It is possible and no one has to walk that path alone. podcast-host

Uh l like I said, i it it's not just it's not just getting sober, it's staying sober. podcast-host

Uh and you gotta have community and you gotta have support. podcast-host

That's what I honestly learned from, you know, Jennifer and Andrew, uh some mutual friends of ours uh who were uh supporters and uh fans of the Galano Club. podcast-host

And uh uh w when you have uh it's so special honestly in Austin to have an LGBTQIA plus uh recovery center like the Austin Galano Club. podcast-host

and uh honor the Austin Galano Club for sixteen years of uh of uh of meetings and recovery and and of of healthy, sober people. podcast-host

Be it known that whereas the Austin Galano Club was established in two thousand and ten to create a home in Austin for recovering LGBTQIA plus persons and their allies, providing a safe and affordable place to gather for multiple twelve step fellowships and community connections. podcast-host

And whereas, the Austin Galano Club officially opened on Sunday, july first, two thousand twelve, with its first on-site twelve-step meeting, and whereas the Austin Galano podcast-host
