And I knew nothing about the Bay Area in California.
And then one day, I just told my girlfriend, I'm like, let's move to California.
I mean, really, let's just pack up and go.
Like, what's stopping us?
And she was just crazy enough that she said yes.
She's like, yeah, yeah, let's go.
Okay.
So we did.
We literally just like had a garage sale, pared down all the big stuff, put all the stuff that would fit in the car, the cat and us, and off we got a car type carrier and off we went.

I'm telling her, I want to go through L.A.
So we took Route 66 from Chicago to L.A.
He retraced Route 66.

And I said, I'm going to show you some things.

and I hitchhiked up Highway 1 one time in early 80s when I was in college on a summer I'd spent in California.
