Oh, yeah, I heard about this.
It's a hormone disruptor.
So when plastic is in the body, it acts like estrogen.
So it goes in our hormone receptors, like the key, and it starts telling the body to produce energy, to store fat, to do all kinds of stuff that estrogen normally would do.
That is a big problem because you don't want something that is mimicking your hormones in your body.
The other thing is that it causes inflammation because the dendritic cells try to break up the microplastics and they cannot break them up because they don't know what they are.
And they keep on breaking them up, which causes inflammation.
And one more thing is that these microplastics...
the body doesn't know what they are, right?
So when they go in your body, we're like, what do we do with this?
You know, your system is like, what do I do with these things?
And sometimes they are being stored in the fat tissue.
So it just shoves them in the fat tissue.
And when you're trying to lose weight,
the body can't break them up because it's not fat.
It's not, what is it?
It's not muscle.
And it's like this layer of plastic that's actually lodging in your fat tissue.
It's like the strata of the ocean.
Right now, if you look at the strata of the ocean, you'll see layers of microplastic within the rocks and the sand.
