That ought to be illegal because this is the Democrats' long-term strategy to never, ever surrender power.

I think the answer to all that is, is that what we've got to do is deliver for the working people of this country who put the president in the White House, who put me in the Senate, who gave control of the Senate and the House to Republicans.

If we don't deliver for these people, and this is what the president was saying this morning, if we don't deliver for these people, we're going to see more mandamis.

We're going to see more socialists and communists out there taking control because working people in this country need champions and they need help right now.

It's why Donald Trump got elected.

It's why he's pursuing the policies he's pursuing.

But I just think the message to Republicans is start

delivering.

Start delivering on the agenda that we ran on.

We've got to help working people.

We've got to get them their jobs back.

We've got to get them their wages up.

We've got to make sure they can afford health care.

And we've got to get moving on it.

That's my takeaway, and that's my message.

And that's what the president said this morning, and I think he's right.

Well, I think it's a hugely important case.

I think that the president does absolutely have the authority under the law, statutory authority, to impose these tariffs.

I actually think, Steve, he's got it in multiple different statutes, including the famous Smoot-Hawley tariff from back in the 1930s, which explicitly gives the president the ability to set tariffs up to the levels this president has.

I'll just say this.
